Jim was born and raised in central Wyoming. He graduated from Black Hills State College in 1984, then spent 23 years working for a Safety Distribution company. In 2007, he and his wife, Shelly, purchased Underwood Supply in Casper Wyoming, later renaming it RMI (Rocky Mountain Industrial Supply). Jim enjoys owning his own industrial distribution company and likes to spend time working with customers on a one-on-one basis. He and Shelly have two children: Ashley, 23, and CJ, 21. His hobbies include golfing in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter months.
